Well, what an adventure! Funny story: Dan was booked in to re-wire a doorbell for me at 9am. I arrived home to find him on the doorstep, five minutes early, so already he is extremely punctual and friendly. All good so far, right? I let him into the house ... and for the first time in seven years of living there, the batteries in the house alarm (keypad) have died, so the code will not send and the alarm (situated RIGHT NEXT to the front door where Dan had to work, ho-ho) inevitably produced an ear-piercing wail that filled the entire house. Never has the phrase "Sod's Law" ever felt so necessary. Like an absolute trooper, Dan continued to do the job under these conditions, with the alarm screaming the whole time, in quick and efficient time. Not once did he seem frustrated or angry. He even tried to help with the alarm - although it's not really his field - and provided a phone number of a colleague, and even answered another question I had regarding the electrics in the house. I'd also like to point out that he was the ONLY trades-person on the MyBuilder whole website who actually provided a quote ... I guess the rest are either busy or just not fans of the "no job too small" policy. So I can honestly say I have no hesitation in recommending this time-conscious, friendly, knowledgeable and professional electrician - and to apologise that you had to work with that racket going on! I'll keep a closer eye on those batteries in the future. [slaps own head]
